Unlike most fans of the classic franchise, I'm not gonna blast this series out of my sights just because Disney owns and distributes it. I'm also not letting the EU's loss get in the way of my thoughts on the new series. I'd also like to make it clear that Lucasfilm Animation has done the work, not Disneyso many silly fans have come to believe.<br/><br/>Now then, Star Wars Rebels: Spark of the Rebellion has proved itself to be a fantastic beginning to the new series. It's a much better first impression than the terrible 2008 Clone Wars movie. The characters are likable. Ezra is sneaky and charming. Kanan is cool yet mysterious. Hera is kind and motherly. Sabine is crazed and wild. Zeb is bullyish and violent. Chopper doesn't seem to like or care about anyone. Even the main villain of this episode, Agent Kallus, proves to be a badass, hellbent on capturing our heroes. Not only are these characters so entertaining to watch interact with each other but the story is loads of good fun. It never becomes too childish for adult viewers or too graphic for very young viewers. It'swell balancedthe Original Trilogy that first started back in 1977. It's funny, clever, actiony, and intense at certain moments. It all feels like Star Wars. More so than any other Star Wars show that's ever been on TV. The interesting characters, fun story, and balanced tone make this totally worth you're time for future episodes. If you wanted to feel like a kid watching the original Star Wars again, then look no further. The Force is strong with Rebels.
Absolutely amazing. Rebels is a true masterpiece that is a must see for true star wars fans.<br/><br/>Star Wars rebels bridges the gap between star wars episode three and four, although at first I was pretty unsatisfied with the expanded universe being ruled out, I assumed that the creators wouldn't know what to do or how to execute the story within the gap.<br/><br/>I'll start with the basic story, it follows a gang of rebels who dislike the empire, and the story follows two Jedi across their missions and encounters with the empire. The countless planets and places they visit are true to the star wars series which (even for a hard core fan suchme) satisfy anyone who are deeply entwined with the star wars universe. *spoilers* for example, Kanan and Ezra visit Malacore. A war stricken planet with much history in the Star Wars universe. And the creators included a brief history of the planet.<br/><br/>Some cons: Now the story does drag on a little, which is why it doesn't get a 10/10, for example the constant fights against the inquisitors and the storm troopers, have no purpose it gets annoying and repetitive. In fact, much of the episodes in between are basically fillers. You don't even need to watch season 1. But season 2 is crazy. The pilot and the finale episodes are absolutely amazing. Plus the music could do a lot better, i.e. sometimes there should be dramatic music but there is nothing, which just gives an awkward feel.<br/><br/>The pros: What I love about rebels the most, was season 2. Season two showed us some of our beloved characters and how they have changed slightly over the years. SuchAsohka, she's been led slightly astray from the light side.<br/><br/>Honestly if you are a star wars fan, this is something you must watch. It isn't an ignorant work like the force awakens, leaving out a lot of information on the massive star wars universe, in fact it brings in other information, and adds slightly to the universe. Seeing Jedi temples. Holocrons, sith temples. Its amazing.<br/><br/>What got my interest the most was the season 2 finale and the siege of Lothal. Let me just say something. The season 2 finale was absolutely amazing, I was cheering and was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Pitting master against apprentice, and i love how they injured Kanan, so the story will take a slight turn, avoiding repetitiveness. The way they wrapped up the story in the end was perfect. leaving viewers craving for more from the next season.

His apprentice, the cocky 14 year old thief and con artist Ezra Bridger. The teenage Mandalorian girl Sabine Wren. The cat-like Garazeb Orellions. The ship's pilot Hera Syndulla. The genetically engineered former Republic clone trooper Rex. Former Jedi Ahsoka Tano and the protocol droid Chopperthey fight back against the evil Galactic Empire and to free the planets from it's rule and battle the evil Imperial Forces led by the Imperial agent Kallus. Lando Calrissian, Princess Leia Organa, Bail Organa, Darth Vader, R2-D2, C-3PO, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi have all appeared at least once. Ezra was born on Empire Day (The day the Republic fell and became the Galactic Empire), 19 years Before the Battle of Yavin. Making him 14 at the start of the series. The exact same ageLuke Skywalker and Leia Organa, maybe a few days older.
